I was utterly bewildered as I found myself plunged into that abyss. Its depth rivalled that of the earth's very core. The only thing I could recall was that it all unfolded right after my wish to meet the devil was granted.
Ah, the devil. The figure that materialised before me was nothing short of absurd. He was either cloaked in darkness or completely bare. His body was a mere shadow, and his face seemed to be plucked straight from the pages of ghostly tales or ridiculous paranormal documentaries. He was grotesque yet oddly entertaining, with horns sprouting from his head, accompanied by a black dog. Despite its fierce demeanour, the dog was far less hideous than its master. It didn’t lunge at me, and the demon refrained from any foolish antics, glaring at me with a look of pure fury.
Suddenly, an unseen force shoved me, and I plummeted downward like a cat tumbling from a rooftop, not even attempting to catch myself, just like a cat would. The entire space glowed with a surreal blue light. The air felt just right, and then I heard a voice. It informed me that I was en route to hell, but isn’t hell supposed to be red, scorching, and teeming with grotesque beings and venomous snakes waiting to pounce? A boiling sea of fire would be my drink, and my meals would consist of decaying, worm-infested flesh while merciless angels sharpened their weapons to end me. So they say.
However, if this endless blue hole was indeed hell, I found no cause for alarm. I descended into the earth's core, the very place where it was said hell lay hidden. The scenery was as vibrant as the sea, calm and peaceful. The air was filled with the sweet scent of blooming flowers, and the ambience resembled an idyllic spring day, enveloping me in a comforting embrace. The moment my feet met the ground of this underworld, I was suddenly thrust upward, soaring past all the obstacles I had just overcome to arrive in this azure inferno.
When I emerged at the top, I peered into the abyss. Still blue. The scent lingered in my memory. I scanned the area for the demon, but he was nowhere to be found. Instead, the dog approached me without hesitation. From that moment on, the dog became my closest companion, a loyal friend.
I gazed up at the sky, and a realisation washed over me: hell isn't solely beneath our feet. Perhaps it resides beyond the clouds, or even somewhere in between.
